Best Western DeWitt

Great hotel. Was traveling for work. Everything was clean and the staff was helpful. Didn’t use the pool but it looked inviting. Breakfast was good. Eggs, sausage, waffles, and a few other things. Would stay here again.

Maybe not the best Western but still a Good Western. Friendly check-in person who gave bottled water. Looks like they have tried to do some modernization. Some hot breakfast items (sausage and egg and waffles). Pool was freezing. Employee said it was 85 without measuring... eventually jets had warm water so maybe he overrided a timer just before we were getting ready to get out. Hot tub gone. Spa now closed. Rooms are small and tight. Fridge was iced over so had to turn off and keep door open for a while. Door blocking fridge. Basic fitness room. Quiet and friendly and generally clean. Nothing to write home about but I would stay here again for an overnight if in the area.

We had a great experience from the moment we entered the lobby. The front desk attendant was extremely friendly and helpful. He made us feel very welcomed. I wish I could remember his name. Customer service was top notch. The pool was warm, clean and well stocked with clean towels. We had it all to ourselves and it was a holiday weekend. The rooms were perfect for what we needed and for the price. They were clean, had a mini fridge, microwave and were well stocked with the essentials. I read one of the reviews where it said there were bugs. And to just add to the owners response, he is correct, this area gets boxelder and stink bugs (they are beetles) during the spring season. They favor warmth and stick to the side of the building that has the most sun, and are NOT cockroaches. Certain things will deter them but unfortunately they are seasonal and nothing you can do will get rid of them completely. They are harmless. That being said, we didn’t have any issues and never saw anything anywhere during our stay.

As a heads up, if booking through the app, it shows a king room, a king suite and a king suite balcony. I don’t think the middle option (suite without balcony) exists. This is what we booked and by the time we checked in the app had us set for a reg king room. The front desk guy seemed as confused as I was because the suites are the backing rooms and have a much different price point. His name was Shawn/Sean/Shaun, didn’t think to ask how he spells it. Great service from this man! We told Shawn that we weren’t too concerned with the room not being what wen thought we booked because I know from traveling that the apps and especially 3rd party sites can show things the hotel might not have control over. That and it was only like a $10 difference. So we said we’d stay in the same style room but asked for a different only because whoever had previously been in our room had something pretty foul smelling they must have had in the mini fridge. Probably just leftovers with a strong smell we didn’t care for. Shawn checked for us and wound up getting us a different room and an upgrade without charge. We didn’t have to throw a fit or be rude like some people, he was just nice enough to accommodate us and then some. Very nice guy, deserves recognition.

This hotel was a great value and has just what our family was looking for. Nice big, warm swimming pool. Adequate breakfast with waffles, eggs, sausage, yogurt, juice, toast, etc. rooms were pretty clean and in good condition. Definitely some wear and tear, but overall a good place for the price!

We had a great stay. Rooms are recently updated. The update was done well and fully, including tubs, surrounds, toilets, sinks, and aesthetics too. The amenities were nice and well maintained. The indoor pool was a great option. The gal that checked us in was very pleasant. The only challenge was the ADA rooms have the same tall beds the other rooms do. Some folks, like ours needing ADA access, have a very hard time getting in and out of the high bed.

I was in a snowstorm and could not see to drive. This was my refuge. I normally stay at another chain of hotels and expect a lot so I was nervous with this unexpected stay. The front desk was kind, the facility clean recently updated, the room comfortable, quiet hotel. Breakfast standard but a properly working wafflemaker made it very good. Thank you

For a one night stay, this hotel was pretty solid. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was pretty decent and included scrambled eggs, sausage links, waffle station, and other typical continental breakfast items. The only downsides were that the pillows in the room are pretty small (probably half the size of a typical king pillow) and there is not a great place to fill a water bottle. Perfect spot for a one night trip - close to I-69 and 127 about 10 minutes outside of Lansing. Staff was helpful and friendly and the building in general was pretty quiet. Really excellent value overall!
